Me thinking about electrical compression and aliens again has led me to think about another repeat biology subject of the amperi, and how I can explain wire travel in a (still fictional) logical way- find out next now how that turns out!
You know, after I have posted multiple other stuff between this being completed and this actually being posted-
One thing that I tend to do when considering amperi biology is that they need to be a little moist (apologies for the word) in order to breathe, but to take more inspiration from jellyfish - surprisingly the actual inspiration for amperi (probably because you couldn’t exactly design constantly transparent characters in animated tv) - and say that physically a lot of their main body is made from this moisture. Unlike jellyfish it’s not quite water, rather it’s a conductive fluid that actually contains a lot of electrochemical signals akin to a nervous system. This in particular is a biological reason why emotion reading is part of amperi languages - communication is done through the excretion and dispersal of this nervous system in water - and why the now ‘surrounded by emotion chemicals’ Ra’ad due to his undiscovered psychometry mutation was constantly overwhelmed, overstimulated, and overcome with anxiety.
And it’s this excretion that actually plays a language role too, essentially being practically REQUIRED in communication especially with how in water it spreads out. A reason why in the air amperi are a little damp is because excretion is a constant (but consistent) autonomic function, like conductive sweat that contains so many messages, though in surface environments it does make communication difficult. Partly the reason why Ra’ad finds himself preferring land, even if either way he’d still need to wear some damp robes when a dry season hits; it beats having to wear one everytime in the ocean with the cultural equivalent connotation of constantly wearing a balaclava though-
And all this ‘filled with goo’ stuff doesn’t mean that amperi have a true main body under their skin (that’s for @ohyeahben10 ‘s Ultimate Ampfibian) but it DOES mean that if an amperi were to perhaps compress themselves to a smaller ‘fit through the neck of a bottle’ size, they build up a charge and in fact begin to conduct electricity. It’s an adaptation for both offence and defence, either being used in constricting tentacles to electrocute prey and victims through excretion and consequent conduction of their electrochemical gel or - a way we will explore in depth next - electrifying predators and assailants using complete compression and slipping between teeth, gills, blowholes, and/or grasp, leaving a trail of ‘lightning’ in escape.
That’s right baby I’ve finally figured out how to logic my way around wire walking!
I’ve mentioned a few times that I think amperi have a bone in them, often referring to he more literal bone like structure in cuttlefish rather than the flexible structure inside of a squid called a gladius or pen, the squid of course being the basis of my ‘this exists in real biology’ inspiration. In fact, perhaps this gladius will serve to fit much better with the amperi, as it’s role in Earth squids is to serve as protection of visceral organs and an attachment for very important muscle groups; I say, grinning into the camera as if I were a villain thinking of something dastardly.
With this gladius, not only does it serve as a base for the important muscle groups of compression - a complicated dynamic of contracting muscles to reduce size and expanding pores to excrete the mucus they adapted for - but in amongst the visceral organs (from a list of few includes the very important heart) there is a very valued organ that in fact produces its conductive gel, sitting nice and comfortable against the brain where these electrochemical signals translate into commands ether somatic or autonomic. As the muscles contract using the gladius as it’s base it in fact squeezes the perfectly placed organ that disperses this electrochemical as if along a highly distributed nervous system and in fact carries with it charge, charge that conducts to whatever purpose the amperi compresses with.
It is that same conductivity that amperi naturally are that allows them wire and cable transportation, since it is a high energy mode of travel for a significantly reduced body size. In a great grand ocean of vast expanses it’s less effective than the semi-compression of weaponry and desperate compression of ‘please don’t eat me’, or the less desperate semi-compression of electric inking; too much energy for too little time, it’s like trying to sprint across the country.
But in areas with a denser population with specific infrastructure built as the amperi equivalent for public transportation or perhaps at a more basic level a bike lane, literal cable travel is developed around the idea of being high energy fast travelling short distance trips. In ocean cities or towns in close proximity to them, think like if internet cables along the ocean floor were filled with people going to work or school or just going out for lunch. On the land where a lot of the metalworking is literally landlocked to be in as dry of air as it can in order to smith, there are powerlines that provide local traffic for any surface towns or workplaces, but you also get a few more uh trespassers along the lines because a not insignificant number of people live on the surface as hermits away from the ocean and many lines are mainly for transit companies.
From personal experience of accidentally walking through my local transit worksite (fuck you google maps) finding that I’m on the wrong side of a tollgate, sometimes where you need or want to go, the fastest route just so happens to be through the company lines.
On Earth, because the only reason we have internet cables and powerlines is because we use them as - well - powerlines and internet cables, it’s not as if an amperi runaway who’s lost and afraid far from whatever he might’ve called familiar if not quite the home he wanted it to be has any real societal understanding that Earth is the American transportation system of Tesslos, Ra’ad just takes the lines and is internally horrified that they lead directly into houses on occasion.
And I think that’s it for wire walking lmao- this was meant to be posted after I rambles about petrosapien nervous systems but yeet yeet!

The Shield of Professionalism: The Importance of Security Uniforms
The importance of security people in today's environment cannot be emphasised. Assuring the safety and security of people and property, security officers act as the first line of defence against attacks. Their uniform is an essential component of their work, serving as a means of identification as well as a vital component of their efficiency and expertise.Security uniforms are a visual signal of professionalism and authority. Potential attackers may be discouraged by the sight of uniformed security officers since it indicates that the area is being closely watched over and guarded. Additionally, security staff may be easily identified in an emergency by using their clothing, which helps to set them apart from other personnel. Security uniforms are more than just an article of apparel; they are an essential component of assurance and trust in the workplace. Security officers who wear these specialised uniforms not only project confidence and dependability, but also demonstrate their readiness to tackle possible security situations. By conveying to staff members, clients, and guests that a group of knowledgeable experts is available to handle any potential safety issues, this visual signal helps them feel at ease and confident in their surroundings.
The professional image of security staff can be enhanced by wearing a well-designed security uniform, which not only improves their look but also conveys a feeling of authority and diligence. The person's commitment to their tasks is visually shown by their attire, which emphasises how important it is for them to maintain safety and security protocols. Additionally, security staff can be quickly identified in an emergency by having a uniform and recognisable appearance, which speeds up reaction times and minimises confusion. Since they are instantly identifiable and approachable for help or questions, this unusual clothing not only represents the duties committed to security personnel but also promotes a culture of accountability and dependability.
As a result, the uniform serves as a concrete representation of the principles and standards that security guards maintain, highlighting their commitment to ensuring that everyone on the property is safe. Essentially, a well-made security uniform is an effective instrument for boosting professionalism and emphasising the vital role that security personnel play in preserving law and order within the assigned areas of responsibility. Customers and the public's perception of an organisation are greatly influenced by the visible presence of well-trained security staff wearing distinctive uniforms, which serves as a demonstration of a strong security presence. A well-groomed and capable security team may make a big difference in a firm's standing and reputation by acting as a direct reflection of how seriously security issues are taken inside the company. This is especially crucial for companies that operate in fields like financial services, retail, and hospitality, where safeguarding the security of property, employees, and customers is of utmost importance.
Companies communicate a message of reliability and commitment to the highest standards of safety and security by visualising a committed and skilled security team. This helps to build confidence and assurance among customers and other stakeholders. In addition to serving as a visual deterrent to any threats, a uniformed security staff can set an organisation apart from its rivals by establishing an air of professionalism and order. You're extremely correct tbh I HATE Danganronpa's approach to character design so much (which sucks bc I used to be a megafan). Their designs either say nothing about the character, have little to do with their talent, are impractical and/or are literally just the same sexualised uniform but in a different colour it's so BORING. Like yeah they resemble drawn humans but did they have to have the most cluttered yet basic designs ever conceived???
I could go on about the lack of diversity both in outfit and body (Tenko and Maki are confirmed to be sort of muscular yet they're built exactly like the other girls in their game, everyone is so pale you'd think mihoyo was in the studio /lh, the ashiness of literally everything, the way almost everyone is a twig) but we'd be here all day. Sakura being a little pale girl in the past makes no fucking sense tho like what??????
the designs in danganronpa v3 bug me so MUCH why are so many of the girls wearing different color variants of the same goddamn sailor school girl uniform. why does rantaro just have a regular ass t shirt on. why is shuichi, a literal detective, somehow a less visually appealing protagonist than makoto, Just Some Guy. why is kaito. they were literally all given outfits SPECIFICALLY tailored to them and their talents at the start of the game. to make them all more interesting to look at for the viewers. and yet they are all somehow the most bland looking characters out of any of the danganronpa games how does that WORK how did they MANAGE

Safety and Compliance Report on Aperture Science: PPE
Tumblr media
29 CFR 1910.132 establishes:
"Protective equipment shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body"
This anonymous employee was kind enough to allow Inspector 17 to photograph them in their work uniform. The uniform includes a set of blaze orange coveralls and a PFAS (Personal Fall Arrest System)in the form of an AKR (Advanced Knee Replacement).
29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i) establishes:
"The employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling"
Inspector 17's report on Aperture Science noted that unprotected edges were only present in "Test Chamber" environments and only test participants (such as the employee pictured above) were exposed to these hazards. The issuing of AKR systems to all test participants successfully negated these falling hazard.
When asked about the employee's lack of foot coverings an Aperture representative insisted test chambers were meticulously cleaned of any refuse that an employee could potentially step on. However OSHA 300 logs indicated that test participants occasionally experienced serious stubbed toes and twisted ankles. Inspector 17 attributed these to the use of concrete in test chamber construction and slippery walking-working surfaces.
Aperture was issued a warning and required to ensure that all test participants wear close-toed, slip-resistant footwear in future tests.

PPE is also a way to depersonalize the worker. He has just put on the PPE where he was placed by the unemployment office. He shows his new status, and that he works in a sanitation company. He will very quickly become dirty and stinky, the smell is so bad that he threw up his breakfast after barely 5 minutes, or even a shower will not be able to mask the bad smell ... Fortunately he does not work in his residential area, but since he will have to come home in uniform, he will only come back late at night so that no one recognizes him.

👏 Fellas,
We ALL like a Man in uniform. But is your Man safe in his uniform?
I present to you: Personal protective equipment for construction specialized for the Man of enlightened individuals: Music Man.
the PPE was specifically for construction because construction has the inherently sexiest PPE.
Music Men come in a lot of shapes and sizes and their needs and restrictions change with all of their forms. However, there are many overlaps:
Hard hats: All of the Music Men wear hats. Stupid dinky little clown hats, that is! Their hats couldn't protect their view from sunlight, let alone falling debris. I highly doubt the Music Men actually have any important components inside their heads specifically, but it stands to be protected.
Long sleeved, fitted shirts: All of the music men have exposed arm joints, exposed joints that shrapnel, debris, dirt, rocks - just about anything! - would love to get into and completely lock up your Music Man's limb. To prevent this, although usually OSHA can give leeway with short-sleeved shirts, long sleeved shirts are always recommended and I feel like in this case it is mandatory.
Hi-Vis Vest: 2 of the 395 Music Men are very large. However, ALL Music Men, due to their horror game heritage, are very sneaky, and to counter this, their dress code mandates a hi-vis vest, ESPECIALLY to the 393 "wind up" individuals who, due to their stature, are not very visible.
Safety Gloves: All music men have gloves, and while unlike fanon they all seem to be rubber or some kind of latex that could be protective, their designs were primarily decorative and to be safe, their gloves have padded undersides in order to reduce cuts.
Without further Ado, here are the music men's PPE particularities.
Tumblr media
Homo Sapiens' societal courtesies have instructed us to look towards the face of a subject, and when you did, you may have noticed that Music Man has his cameras visible, like a whore.
Much like the situation with the gloves, the safetiness-level of likely decorative aspects of the Music Man's design is ambiguous, and to prevent ambiguity, Music Man and DJ Music Man have replaced their tinted-black eye-lenses with clear, polycarbonate lenses in order to withstand possible debris flying into them. Creepy, but doesn't it make that just make it easier to gaze into his eyes?
Music man, unfortunately, lacks child-bearing hips, and the reason why this comes up is that the lack of a hip makes it hard to put pants on. Pants that are all too needed for an individual whom most of his debris-philic joints are below the shoulders. To combat this, I have given him and the Wind-Up Music Men 8-legged overalls.
Tumblr media
Finally, Safety Socks. To be frank with you, this isn't entirely for protection, Music Man's plunger feet would likely take the impact of a vehicle running over them just fine (though the socks would help), the socks are primarily to discourage climbing on his own.
Music Man (Homo Mousike) is a species of animatronic spider that evolved from a basal vent-climbing species, and while he does still have the adaptations for climbing, they have evolved towards more terrestrial adaptations that might endanger Music Man should he fall; Music Man is listed as a Heavy Animatronic and would be in great danger if he were to climb on his own, for if he fell, he would probably implode. If the situation does call for him to climb, Music Man can wear a harness and be hooked up to a fall arrest system just like the rest of us.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I don't care about the infinitely diverse levels of facial injury that the Wind-Up Music Men can have. All of you wear a full-cover helmet, now.
The Wind-Up Music Men were all chucked into a fire and it has absolutely ruined all of their faces: their carapaces or/and internal mechanisms have faced some level of either being melted, torn off, or both, which is why I am not letting any of you motherfuckers have a bare face.
Along with a hi-vis vest, I feel like it's in their best interest to extenuate their visibility with a removable, dinky little flag on their hard hats. It can be plastic or fabric, depending on what level of fire or electrical hazard their work entails. However due to trauma I think it's a good guess they won't be working with fire anytime soon.
The Wind-Up Music Men actually retain the privilege to be able to climb freely, without the need of a safety harness. They seem to be able to withstand falling/landing from incredibly high heights without taking much damage at all, like how you can chuck a squirrel from the empire state building and it'll probably live.
Tumblr media
Finally, DJ Music Man. Yes, he still has to wear a vest even though he's the most visible thing on the site.
He has a face mask! DJ Music Man's default mouth position is with his teeth open, and due to the size of his mouth, it is very easy for shrapnel to get in and lodge itself right into the LED display inside his mouth. To prevent this from happening, I gave him a muzzle.
Tumblr media
DJ Music Man is completely prohibited from climbing any sort of structure for any reason whatsoever. His habitat inside of the Pizzaplex was built to facilitate his arboreal lifestyle, but construction projects were not, especially not when the structure in question isn't even finished!
I don't know if there's a million tiny little hairs on the bottom of DJMM's gloves that facilitate his climbing, but I still replaced them with safety gloves to discourage this.
Finally, headphones. Every Music Man could change their internal microphone sensitivity, and even if they couldn't, prolonged loud noises are harmful and annoying only to the original Music Man. DJMM just wears them to have a sense of style.
